[united press association.] Auckland, October 10. Thomas W. H. Wakhim, for murderously assaulting his wife, was sentenced at the Supreme Court this morning to two years' penal servitude. ARRIVAL OF THE AORANGI. Port Chalmers, October 9. The Aorangi has arrived, and brings 304 passengers for all ports, and a full cargo. 251 bags? of mail and 53 passengers were transhipped at tho Heads into the tug Plucky, and the Aorangi left at 10 a.m. for Auckland, via Wellington, where she is to coal. Her passage occupied 40 days one hour 50 minutes, or actual steaming time 38 days. She left Plymouth on the 29ih August, and arrived at Teneriffe at 3 a.m. on the 3rd September. Sailed at noon same day, and arrived at Capetown at 4 p.m. on the 18th. Sailed again at 4 a.m. on the 19tb, and reached the Heads at 4.50 a.m. to-day.
