(Received October 8, 1 a.m.) Newstead has been scratched for the Melbourne Cup and V.R.C. Derby. Manchester and Umbra are scratched foa the Melbourne Cup. There are thirty-one acceptances for the Marihyrnong Plate, to be run for at Flemington on October 31st.
