In the provinces a number of electors availed themselves of the privilege of the franchise, the number being unusually great. The returns for Paris, however, are still incomplete. October 6. Riots took place last Dight outside the publishing office of " Le Gaulois," which was illuminated in honour of the result of the elections. The police, however, soon dispersed the crowd. (Received October 7, 12.30 p.m.) Later. The latest returns of the French elections give the uumber of Conservative deputies at 165, and the Republicans at 140. The number of ballotages for the Electoral College of the Senate was very large, being fully 200.

The total quantity sold during the series lias been 300,000 bales, and 7300 bales are held over for the next sales, which commence on the 17th November.
