The following are the latest betting quotations for the Melbourne Cup : Lord Exeter, 12 to 1 j Helena, 14 to 1 ; Velocipede, 17 to 1 ; Lord Wilton and Gratitude, 20 to 1. (Received October 6, 12.45 p.m.) October 6. Pearson’s horse Commotion put his foot into a hole in the ground while training yesterday. It is very doubtful if he will come to the post for the Caulfield Cup.
