> < * [REUTERS TELEGRAMS.] By Electric Telegraph.—Copyright. REMOVING TORPEDOES FROM PORT JACKSON. STEAMSHIP MOVEMENTS. THE MARKETS. (Received August 21, 9.15 p.m.) Sydney, August 21. The torpedoes laid down in Port Jackson during the recent crisis in Europe are now being removed from the harbour. Sailed, this afternoon, the Union Company’s steamship Wairarapa, for Auckland. To-day’s market shows an increase of one penny on last week’s quotations for oats and maize ; and potatoes have further advanced 10s per ton. New Zealand wheat is 3s per bushel ; New Zealnd oats, 2s 3d per bushel; maize, 3s 2d per 561bs ; Sugar Company’s No. 1 pieces, .£26 per ton ; pollard, Is per bushel ; potatoes, £2 15s per ton. (Received August 22, 1.15 p.m.) Adelaide, August 21. Arrived, this morning, the Orient Company’s steamship Garonne, with London mails to July 17th. Shipping wheat is quiet, at 3s lOd to 4s lid per bushel. Adelaide town flour, £8 12s 6d to £9 per ton; country, £7 15s to £B.
