In both Houses of Parliament last night, votes of thanks were unanimously passed to the British forces in the Egyptian compaign for their services. Iu the House of Lords the principal speeches were made by the Marquis of Salisbury, the Dnke of Cambridge, Earl Huntingdon, and Lord Carrington - ; and in the House of Commons by Sir Michael Hicks-Beach, Chancellor of Exchequer, all of whom lauded the gallantry of Uk: New South Wales Contingent, and asserted that the loyalty shown by the British colonies was adding new strength to the Empire. (Received August 14, 1 a.m.) Later. The departure of Lord Carrington, the new Governor of New South Wales, has been definitely fixed for December 30. It is stated that Major Ghirnsido is
under orders to proceed to Massowah, to act iu concert with the Abyssinian forces in taking steps to relieve ELassala. (Received August 13, 10 p.m.) Vienna, August 2. Sir Henry Drummond Wolff arrived here to-day, en route for Constantinople.
