DEATH OF MR. EVELYN JERROLD.

Mr Evelyn Jerrold, grandson of Douglas, and son of the late Blanchard Jerrold, died suddenly of heart disease on Saturday, May 16, in the full tide of a most promising career. Mr Evelyn Jerrold was a writer of very excellent verse, and frequently wrote with great pathos and feeling, though of late he has chiefly sought the company of the muse, contributing much to the World, to Fun, and occasionally to Punch. Mr Jerrold was one of the authors of "The Coming K " and its successor "The Siliad.'' Up to a few months since he resided much in Paris, whei'o he filled the post of special correspondent to a Loudon newspaper. Mr Jerrold has left, in an unfinished state, a "Life oi Honore de BaLsac." He was a widower, but leaves behind hitn two young children. Mr Jerrold has been buried at Norwood Cemetery, beside his celebrated grandfather.
