BOARD OF HEALTH.
The members of the Board of Health met in the Town Hall on Thursday at 9 p.m.; present —His Worship the Mayor, Councillors Anderson, Olden, Ziegler, Mulvihill, Fitzsimons,Maloney, and Campbell. A letter was read from Dr. Monckton, as follows : Chairman Board or Health, Kumara. Sir—l have an objection to continue to occupy the position of Medical Officer to your Board, and therefore tender my resignation. F. A. Monckton. Kumara, 16th June, 1885. p_ g. —I beg you will return two solar pictures of typical small-pox that I placed at your service some months ago.—F. A.M. On the motion of the Mayor, seconded by Cr. Anderson, it was resolved—" That Dr. Monckton's resignation be accepted, and that the Secretary inform him that the Board regret that the photos of small-pox cases had not been preserved.''' On the motion of the Mayor, seconded by Cr. Mulvihill, it was resolved—- '; That the Secretary ascertain from Dr. Davy if he would be willing to act as Medical Officer to the Board."
