WARDEN'S COURT.
Friday, July 10. [Before J. Giles, Esq., Warden.] APPLICATIONS. Solomon Pascoe and others, by their agent Mr Hannan, applied to construct a deviation of wafer-race No. 1027. The application was objected to by Joseph Cairns and party, as such waterrace would be an obstacle to the working of Montague's extended claim.— Judgment, at request of applicant, postponed. E. J. T. Price, by his agent Mr Hannan, applied for six months' protection for two shares in extended claim No. 32679, Scandinavian Lead, the claim being too poor at present to keep eight men constantly employed on it.—Granted.
Peter Smith, by his agent Mr Hannan, applied to drive a tunnel commencing near Peter Giant and party's shaft, at Larrikins. The application was objected to by Mr James Dand, Manager Government water-race, on the following ground: "That as the about where the proposed tunnel is to be pub has been driven out, any further mining operations carried on in that locality are likely to do the Government race an injury, by causing the ground to settle."—
Judgment postponed to enable the parties to .come to some arrangement.
