At to-day's wool sales 6400 bales were submitted at auction. The prices were steady, but the demand not active. July 9. Obituary—Admiral Wilson, formerly Commodore on the Australian station ; and the Right Rev. George Moberly, D.C.L., Bishop of Salisbury, aged 82. Russia is massing her troops at Sarakhs. Lord Salisbury stated that the next general election would probably take place ou the 17th November. The National Bank of New Zealand has declared a dividend. It is estimated that £IB,OOO will be required to meet probable losses. The position of the French forces in Madagascar is becoming serious. Mr Bradlaugh has been excluded from the House of Commons by a majority of 44.
