Parliament was opened yesterday by his Excellency the Governor, Sir Anthony Musgrave. The speech refers to the promised bills for defraying expenses of members of the Legislature ; for introducing the principle of local option in licensing matters; for shortening the duration of Parliament; for amending the Act referring to labcur traffic ; for conservation of water ; and other important measures. Adelaide, July 7.
The Orient Company's Royal Mail steamship Iberia arrived here to-day from London.
