EARTHQUAKE IN VICTORIA. (Received July 3, 10.45 p.m.) Melbourne, July 3. The Address-in-Reply to the Governor's Speech has been adopted by both Houses of Legislature. (Received July 4, 1.20 p.m.) July 4. The rush which took place to the Snowy River ranges owing to the reported discovery of gold has proved to be a complete failure, as the anticipations of the prospectors have not been realised. A severe shock of earthquake occurred in Victoria yesterda}'. The disturbance was felt in Melbourne and in many of the country towns. (Received July 4, 10.45 p.m.) Sydney, July 3. The Pacific Mail Company's steamship Zealandia arrived this afternoon, with the inward 'Frisco mails. The Soudan Contingent was formally disbanded to-day. The men on receiving their discharge wore allowed two months' pay. Adelaide, July 3. Arrived, the P. and O. steamship Carthage, with mails via Suez.
