WARDEN’S COURT.
Friday, June 13. [Before J. Giles, Esq., Warden.] APPLICATION. John Keller, by his agent Mr Hannan, applied for a residence area fronting the Dillman’s-Christchurch road.— Granted. SUIT. Richard James v. David Williams.— Complainant in this case sued the defendant for—l, That being the registered owner of an eighth interest in extended claim No. 32679, at Larrikin’s ; 2, Being engaged by and working as wages-man for the defendant, and representing his interest in said claim from 30th May to 6th June; 3, The amount agreed to be paid complainant by defendant was £3 per week for full time of eight horns a day, 10s per day being the rate; 4, That defendant has failed to pay complainant the amount of £5 10s for the services before-named. Complainant therefore prayed that defendant be ordered to pay the sum of £5 10s, and that the Court decree that complainant holds a lien upon the interest defendant held in extended claim No. 32679. Mr Seddon for complainant; Mr D, Hannan for defendant. The sum of £2 5s was paid into Court before hearing. After hearing evidence, the Warden gave judgment for defendant in regard to excess above amount paid into Court, with coats, one witness 10s, and advocacy 21s.
