VOLUNTEERING AS MOUNTED SCOUTS. AUSTRALIAN CONTINGENT COMMANDANT UNWELL, [Per Reuter’s Special Correspondent.] (Received May 15, 12.15 p.m.) Suakin, May 14. Lieut, Airey, Wrench, and Sparrow, of the New South Wales contingent, have volunteered to remain behind and act as mounted scouts after the departure of the remainder of the Contingent for Australia, Lieut.-Colonel Richardson, the Australian Commandant, is unwell and has gone aboard the Gauges hospital ship. (Received May 15, 1.30 a.m.) London, May 14. The Orient Company’s Royal Mail steamship Orient will probably take the New South Wales Contingent from Suakin to Sydney.
