Christchurch, April 28, It is rumoured that all the Hou. W. Robinson’s horses are to be taken to Sydney.
At Rangiora this morning, Mr Charles Hollham, a malster in the emplojr °f Mr J. Manning, of the Buxton Brewery, dropped down suddenly dead, it is supposed from heart disease. The prisoner Martin M'Clure who was convicted of malingering a short time ago, was to-day proved guilty of insubordination and threatening the warders at Addington Gaol. He was sentenced to thirty days in irons. As he left the dock he said they would have to bury him before the thirty days were over.
Blenheim, April 29, John Wilson was found guilty of an attempt to commit a tape and was sentenced to five years and 25 lushes. Ilis Honor said prisoner added one more to a long catalogue of those who
hud ruined themselves by drink. This concluded the criminal business.
