♦ [united press association.] Wellington, March 10. A lad named Billows was run over by a lorry this afternoon, and his leg was smashed, necessitating amputation. Sir Jalius Yogel left for Lyttelton by the Hiaemoa at 4.45 this afternoon. Christchurch, March 10. A smart shock of earthquake was felt at four minutes to one this morn ing, lasting several seconds. Direction, N.W. to S.E. Blenheim, March 10. A smart shock of earthquake was felt at 5.42 last evening. It was preceded for several seconds by a rumbling noise. Greymouth, March 10. A rather sharp shock of earthquake was felt here this morning at one o’clock. The vibration lasted five or six seconds, the direction, being north and south. All articles hanging free swung for some time after.
