• Dunedin, February 13. The Hon. Mr Richardson arrived in town to-day and goes on to-morrow to Christchurch.
Flags were hoisted half-mast at the Town Hall and elsewhere to-day, on receipt of the news about General Earle.
Auckland, February 12. Sheehan, on the charge of the Castle-tou-Roche murder, was further remanded to the 19th. Superintendent Thomson informed his Worship that since the prisoner’s last appearance in court, he had received a duplicate copy of the original warrant for the apprehension of the prisoner, signed September 22, 1884, by R. Alton, Magistrate and Justice of the county of Cork, Ireland, bearing the seal of the Secretary of the Home Department. He expected an officer to arrive in Wellington in a fortnight.
