INWARD SUEZ MAILS. (Received February 6, 1 a.m.) Adelaide, February 5. Arrived, this morning, the Orient Royal Mail steamship Iberia, from Plymouth, December 20th. [Per s.s. Wakatipu, at Wellington.] Sydney, January 27. The railway disaster, the news of which was received here on Anniversary Day, cast a great gloom over the community. The extensive rainfall, however, caused much benefit; it has been general throughout the whole country, and has fallen in quantity where most required. The Tamar has sailed with the officers and crew relieved from the Nelson and Diamond. Messenger beat Laycock yesterday in outriggers at the Anniversary regatta. The German steamer Samoa has left for New Guinea. Melbourne, January 27. Mr Castieau, late Inspector of Penal Establishments, and John Cosgrove, City Treasurer, are dead.
