Nelson, February 3. P.P.C.M. C. P. Dearns, the oldest Oddfellow in. New Zealand, died at Stoke to-day, aged 68. He had been an Oddfellow over fifty years, aud assisted to start the Order in Nelson forth-three years ago.

Dunedin, February 4. The Times says the Hon. Mr Larnach is to be called to the Upper Mouse before next session.

Christchurch, February 4. It is repotted that the city council have arranged to obtain the loan of £25,000 from one of the city banks at 5 per cent., without any coat for raising it.
