Great rejoicings were held to-day at Sandringham, the seat of the Prince of Wales, to celebrate the coming of age of Prince Albert Victor, and several congratulatory addresses were presented to his Royal Highness. [special to press association. | London, January 5. Sir F. D. Bell has expressed to Lord Derby his regret at the proposed annexation of the New Hebrides by France. The Rev. John G. Patton, a Presbyterian Missionary who was for many years stationed at the island of Amina, of the New Hebrides group, has written a letter to the “ Pall Mall Gazette” pleading that the group may be annexed by England.

January 6. Commodore Erskiue has been authorised to hoist the British flag on the Louisiade Archipelago and the Woodlark Islands.
