[united press association.] Christchurch, November 29. Sir John Hall received an enthusiastic reception on his return to Hororata yesterday. A congratulatory address was presented from the residents. Sir John was driven home in a dray drawn by four white horses. A triumphal arch was erected before the gate of his residence and the school children sang the National Anthem. Wellington, November 29. The hearing of the charge against Waring Taylor was resumed at the KM. Court to-day. Mr Arundel, the residuary legatee, stated that he had used the shares for the purpose of satisfying Rhode’s demands. The accused was committed for trial, bail being allowed as previously. There are ten further charges to be heard. Auckland, November 30. A charge of indecent assault on a boy named William Chadwin, Maungaturoto, was preferred against Abraham Ridings, late congregational clergyman at Maungaturoto. Hecame up on remand yesterday. Superintendent Thompson said he had received a telegram from the district aforementioned stating that five distinct charges of a similar nature were laid against the prisoner. He was remanded till Tuesday, bail being enlarged.
