SPREAD OF THE SMALL-POX IN
SYDNEY. 57 PERSONS QUARANTINED,
ENGLISH CRICKETERS V. ELEVEN OF PARRAMATTA.
ARRIVAL OF BRINDISI MAILS. (Received December 1, 0.20 a.m.) Sydney, November 29. Several fresh cases of small-pox have occurred in various localities in this city. Every precaution is taken to prevent the spread of the disease. The English cricketers concluded a
match to-day against the local eleven of Parramatta district. The match resulted in a victory for the visitors by nine wickets. (Received December 1, 1.15 p.m.) December 1. Within the last forty-eight hours eleven fresh cases of small-pox have been reported, and, in connection therewith, fifty-seven persons have been quarantined. (Received December 1, 0.20 a.m.) Melbourne, November 30. Arrived, this evening, the Orient steamship John Elder, with the Brindisi mail, dated London October 24.
