WESTLAND COUNTY ELECTION
ARAHURA RIDING. The following are the complete returns from the various polling places in the Arahura Riding for the return of three persons to serve as members in the County Council of Westland :
Messrs Dungan, M'Whirter, and Seddon are, therefore, the three elected. Considering Mr Seddon was absent during the whole of the time of the election, he polled remarkably well. It will no doubt interest our readers to compare the above totals with the totals of the three successful candidates at the last election, thiee years ago (1881), and we therefore append them:— Votes. Dungan 467 M'Whirter 363 Seddon 337 Sandle, 289; Jas. Holmes, 246; F. Barrowmau, 233 ; Byrne, 125 ; Linnell, 40; H. M. Munro, 19.
