[united press association.] Christchurch, October 29. A cow with five horns arrived at Lyttelton this morning as part of Stevens and Abbott's Live Curio Exhibition. As the arrival was from Sydney the Inspector of Cattle ordered her to be quarantined for 42 days, much to the amazement of the showman, who had certificates of health from' Australia. Nelson, October 29. An inquiry into the accident to Dr. Legatt is being held this evening. The latest account from the hospital states that the unfortunate man is doing well though greatly depressed. Dr. Legatt had previously cautioned the man not to load until it came to his turn to fire, but he disobeyed the order. Gunners Sadd and Clark had a narrow escape, the bullet passing between the arm and side of Gunner Clark, and grazing the coat of Gunuer Sadd. Auckland, October 28. The body of Decimus Atkinson has been recovered and buried. Olaf Forsen, a sailor belonging to the barque Wentona, lying at Manuka, Kaipara, was accidentally killed by being jammed between two logs.
