(Received October 4, 4.10 p.m.) Brisbane, October 4. A serious collision occurred to-day on the railway line near this city. The driver of one of the trains was killed, and several passengers were severely injured. The railway material is also much damaged. (Received October 6, 12.45 p.m.) Melbourne, October 6. One patient at the quarrntine station died yesterday of small-pox. Plausible has been heavily backed for the Melbourne Cup at 25 to 1.
