THE QUESTION OF ANNEXATION OF NEW GUINEA. REPLY OF THE PHEMIER OF NEW SOUTH WALES.
(Received September 22, 12.10 p.m.) Sydney, September 22. The Hon. Mr Stewart, Premier, replying io the Hon. Mr Service's communication re New Guinea annexation, states that he does nob concur in the proposal to again urge Lord Derby to take immediate steps for the establishment of a protectorate over New Guinea and the Pacific Islands. Mr Stewart considers the time inopportune and altogether unsuitable.
