THE NEW MINISTRY.

In the Legislative Council yesterday afternoon the Hon. Mr Reynolds announced that a new Government had been formed composed as follows : Mr Stout—Premier and Attorney-Gen-eral. Works. Mr Ballance—Native Minister, Defence, and Lands. Mr Tole—Minister of Justice; and himself, The Hon. Mr Reynolds, without a portfolio.

The Times' correspondent states " that the Hon. P. Buckley was sworn in last night as Colonial Secretary, and that Captain Morris or Mr W. J. Hurst, will in all probability be given the other portfolio. It is understood that the new Ministry will receive the support of Sir George Grey and his followers."
