>— —< AUSTRALIAN MUTUAL PROVIDENT SOCIETY. INWARD SUEZ MAILS. (Received August 20, 5 p.m.) Sydney, August 20. The seventh quinquennial report of the Australian Mutual Provident Society was iesued to-day. It contains a comprehensive resume of the history and progress of the society and a complete exposition of its present position. The surplus for five years ended 31st December, 1883, is said to be £1,156,196, of which £142,963 are reserved from distribution, leaving for division among members the sum of £1,013,233, which amount will represent reversionary bonuses to the amount of £2,094,392. Examples which are given in the report show that bonuses on this occasion will be much larger than on the previous occasion in 1879. (Received August 20, 10 p.m.) Adelaide, August 20. The Orient steamship Cuzco, with English mails dated London, July IS, arrived here this morning.
