[REUTER'S TELEGRAMS.] By Electric Telegraph—Copyright. CRICKET. AUSTRALIANS V. COUNTY OF KENT. (Received August 5, 3.5 p.m.) London, August 4. The Australian cricketers began the twenty-third match of their tour today, at Canterbury, where they met for the first time an eleven of the County of Kent, composed as follows :—Lord Harris, Messrs Christopherson, Lipscombe, M'Kinnon, A. Penn, C. Wilson, Kemp, and G. G. Hearne, F. Hearne, Wooton, and A. Hearne. The weather was splendid, and there was a large attendance of spectators. The wicket was in good order. The Home team went in first, and their innings closed for 169. Wilson was the highest scorer, with 57 (bowled). The Australians went to the wickets, and at the close of the day had run up 136, with only four wickets down. Murdoch made 24 (caught); M'Donnell is not out, with 80 to his credit.
