A collision occurred to-day in the Thames River, near Gravesend, between two steamships, the Dione and Camden. The former suffered such injury that she sank in a few minutes, and seventeen persons on board were drowned. Hong-Kong, August 4. News is to hand that the younger brother of the late King Thudae has been crowned King of Annam. (Received August 5, 12.5 a,m.) Constantinople, August 3. The outbreak of fanaticism in the Province of Yemen is rapidly increasing, and the revolt is assuming alarming proportions. All the available troops have been despatched to Arabia with the view of subduing the rebels, Cairo, August 3. Despatches have been received from Major Kitchener announcing his arrival at Dongola, and stating that he had been well received by the inhabitants of the town, Rome, August 3. Cases of cholera have occurred in several parts of the country, and, despite the precautions which have been taken to prevent the spread of the infection, the epidemic is increasing daily. At a large Conference of Conservative and Liberal delegates, the latter denounced the Lords for their refusal to accept the recent compromise on the Franchise question.
