[REUTERS TELEGRAMS.] By Electric Telegraph.—Copyright. >—« SPREAD OF THE SMALL-POX IN VICTORIA. INWARD SUEZ MAILS. ARRIVAL OP THE lONIC AT HOBART. (Received August 2, 8.30 p.m.) Melbourne, August 2. A report has reached here that small-pox has made its appearance at Border Town, on the boundary line between Victoria and South Australia, where two police troopers have been attacked with the disease, which is believed to be true variola. Further cases of small-pox are also reported in the suburbs of this city. (Received August 2, 0.45 a.m.) A case of small-pox has occurred in the heart of the city, and fears are entertained that the infection may spread. (Received August 4, 12.40 p.m.) August 4. Arrived, yesterday, the P. and 0. steamship Ballarat, with the English mails, dated London, Juue 27. (Received August 2, 8.30 p.m.—Delayed by interruption of cable.) Hobart, July 29. The steamship louic, from Plymouth (June 19), arrived here to-day, en route for Auckland.
