The Australian cricketers commenced a match to-day at Kensington Oval, against eleven Players of Eugland. There was a good attendance of spectators and weather tine, but owing to recent rains the wicket was heavy. The Home team went in first, but only succeeded in scoring 117, the principal contributors being Ulyetfc, caught, 22; and Humphreys, bowled, 18. The visitors then went in for their first innings, which closed for 151. The principal scorers were—M'Donald, stumped, 26; Murdoch, bowled, 19; and Bonnor, run out, 68. Bonnor was in excellent form, and his play was much applauded. He did not give a single chance throughout his innings until his wicket was put down. The second innings of the Home team then commenced, but only 5 runs had been scored, with one wicket down, when play was stopped for the clay. (Received August 2, 2.20 p.m.) August 1. The cricket match Australians versus Players of England has resulted in a victory for the former by nine wickets. A disturbance took place during the afternoou when luncheon hour arrived. The Australians at that time wanted only 11 runs to win, but the match was suspended for lunch. A number of spectators became angry in consequence, and the mob rushed the ground, and uprooted the stumps. The disturbance, however, only lasted a few minutes, as the better feeling in the majority of the spectators prevailed, and when the Australians again came to the wicket, they were loudly cheered.
