CRICKET. AUSTRALIANS Y. ALL ENGLAND. MELBOURNE CUP SCRATCHINGS. (Received July 11, 12.30 p.m.) London, July 10. Telegrams from Manchester, timed 3 p.m., announce that up to that hour, owing to heavy rain, play had not begun in the cricket match Australians versus All England.

A change is being made in constituting the English team, A. P. Lucas, Barlow, and Shrewsbury taking the places of Lord Harris, Crossland, and Bright. The other eight players chosen remain in the team, viz., W. G. Grace, Hornby, Steel, O’Brien, Barnes, Peate, Pilling, and Ulyett. (Received July 11, 2.20 p.m.) Evening. Owing to the continuous inclemency of the weather, the Manchester cricket match has been postponed until to-morrow. (Received July 12, 12.50 a.m.) The cricket match Australians v. All England commenced at Manchester late this afternoon,, the weather having moderated though continuing showery. Tlie wicket was very heavy, owing to the rain that had fallen.

The Englishmen went first to the wickets, and when the stumps were drawn their score stood at 26, with three wickets down. The individual scorers were— Grace, caught, 8 ; Hornby, stumped, 0 ; Ulyett, bowled, 5 ; Barlow, not out, 5 ; Steel, not out, 8. . (Received July H, 8 p.m.) Melbourne, July 11. Dirk Hatteraick and Sardius have been scratched for the Melbourne Cup.
