MASONIC - DISTRICT GRAND LODGE OF WESTLAND.

[From to-day’s Argus.]

The District Grand Lodge of Westland, held its quarterly communication yesterday at the Masonic Hall here, the District Grand Master of Westland Bro, J, Bsvan in the chair, supported by District Deputy Grand Master Revell. The minutes of last meeting were read and confirmed, and outward and inward correspondence read ana received. After transacting the ordinary business, the District Grand Lodge was closed in form and solemn prayer. Immediately after, the Greymouth Lodge was opened, and the annual installation of W.M, and officers proceeded with, District Grand Master Bevan, Installing Master, assisted by Deputy District Grand Master Revell.

and P.D.G.S.W. Hudson peiformed the ceremony in a most impressive manner. About 100 Masons were present. The following brethren were installed in their respective offices ; Bros. E. I. Lord, W.M. ; B. J. Westbrook, S.W.; Charles , Wainrigbt, J.W. ; 11. H. Oxley, treasurer; S. A. Murphy, secretary; J. G. Thomas, chaplain; S. C. Hill, S.D.; H. S. Castle, J.D.; H. W. Robinson and A. Matheson, stewards ; T. Felling, 1.G.; J. M'Laren, tyler. A hearty vote of thanks was given and recorded on the minutes to the District Grand Master, after which the Lodge was closed at 7 p.m. In the evening between 70 and 80 of the brethren sat down to a sumptuous banquet prepared by Mr R. Kettle, the caterer on the occasion. Toasts, songs, and sentiments followed, and the company separated at 12 o’clock, having enjoyed the greatest harmony.
