KUMARA HOSPITAL.

The last ordinary meeting of the present Hospital Committee was held in the Town Hall on Tuesday evening • present—Mr W. Nicholson (in the chair), T. Davidson, Payne, T. Jones, Stockman, Watson, Harris, Burger, Campbell, Ziegler, and J. Hannah. The minutes of the previous meeting were read and confirmed. The Wardsman’s Report for the month of Jane was read and received. Prom it we find that the total number

of in-patients treated during the month was 11, of which number 2 were discharged, 2 died, and 7 remained in the Hospital. J. Gartleman, with a crushed foot, was discharged cured j Thos. Harrold was discharged unrelieved (by his friend). Jas. Wildridge and Gregory Nilands died of their respective diseases. The seven who were still under treatment were—F. Andrews, A. Carlstrom, J. Kerr, Louis Lousicb, John Stanich, Thos. Levitt, and John Dixon. Mr Barger, on behalf of the House Committee, reported that the tunnel to drain the. Hospital grounds had been finished, but required boxing; also that the cleanliness of the Hospital and closets was not in a satisfactory state. The Chairman and Mr Stockman corroborated this report. The Secretary was instructed., to write to the Wards man concerning the same and have same attended to without delay. The House Committee was authorised to procure required shelving for the storeroom, and boxes required for the tunnel. Accounts to the amount.of £159 2s were passed for payment. Messrs Burger, Nicholson, Stockman, and the. Secretary were instructed to draw up the report for the general annual meeting, to be held on the 22nd inst. Messrs Ziegler and the Secretary were instructed to canvass the town for subscriptions; Messrs Jones and Payne Dillman’s Town and Dunedin Plat; and Messrs Watson and Davidson Larrikins. Receipts were handed in as follow : By Mr C. Harris, £1 10s; by Mr Campbell, £2; by Mr T. Jones, 10s; by visitors the Hospital, 17s.
