TAIL-RACE CERTIFICATES.

[to the editor.] Sir —Mr Seddon’s assertion, in Tuesday’s issue, that our party deluded four other parties to get their tail-race certificate indorsed is untrue, Mr Hannan, who has been conducting legal business for our party, can testify that he was asked for our certificate and informed of the purpose for which it was wanted. The certificate is in the hands of Mr Price, who is absent; and it is entirely through his omission in not forwarding it that it is not yet indorsed. Mr Price was written to on the subject fully a fortnight ago. This explanation ought to satisfy Mr Seddon, who we hope will make an “ amende honorable.”—Yours, &c., Miller and party, July 3, 1884.
