[REUTERS TELEGRAMS.] By Electric Telegraph.—Copyright. THE “AGE” EXPEDITION TO NEW GUINEA. (Received June 18, 3 p.m.) Melbourne, June 18. Sailed, this morning, the Te A nan, for the Bluff. The Age received a telegram from its special correspondent despatched to New Guinea, reporting his return to Thursday Island, north of Queensland. The telegram states that the advance of the expedition was stopped by 1200 natives, but that fully 600 miles into the interior of New Guinea was traversed. One of the party was missing. (Received June 19, 12.30 p.m.) June 19. The Address-in-Reply to the ActingGovernor’s speech has been voted by both Houses of Parliament. The price of the Melbourne Argus will be reduced from 3d to 2d from Ist July.
