THE NEW ZEALAND FOOTBALLERS IN SYDNEY. THE CAULFIELD CUP. (Received June 3, 9.50 p.m.) Sydney, June 3. The football match between the New Zealand team and seventeen of the combined suburbs resulted in another victory for the New Zealanders by 23 points to 5. Later. During the first game the combined team played well and at half time the scores were follows:—New Zealand, 6 points; suburbs, 5, But during the latter part of the time, the local men collapsed, and the visitors literally walked over their opponents. Melbourne, June 3. One hundred and thirty-seven horses have been entered for the Caulfield Cup. (Received June 4, 12.30 p.m.) June 4. In yesterday’s football match, Warbrick secured a brilliant goal by a splendid long drop-kick. Ryan and Bradon also did some fine drop-kicking; and Warbrick particularly distinguished himself in his play throughout the afternoon. Allan, Robertson, and Taiaroa, were also in excellent form, and made splendid runs. The New Zealandeis left for Newcastle last night, and to-morrow play there against fifteen of the northern districts.

In the three matches which so far have been played, the visitors have scored 67 points against 5 to their opponents.

CRICKET. AUSTRALIANS V. DERBYSHIRE. (Received June 4, 1.10 p.m.) London, June 3. The cricket match with Derby was concluded to-day, and resulted in a victory for the Australians by an innings and 40 runs. The County eleven in their first innings scored 106; and, having followed, made 127 in the second, or a total of 233 against 273 for the Austialians. Spofforth bowled splendidly and took the majority of the Derbyshire wickets. For the Home team Docker in his second innings was the highest scorer, with 34. The weather was splendid, and there was a good attendance. Little interest, however, was taken in the contest.
