The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, have secured handsome warehouses in Brisbane street, for wool business. Arrived, the Union steamship Hauroto, from Wellington. (Received May 2, 1.20 p.m.) May 2. In the Legislative Assembly last night, the vote for Immigration was redaced to £50,000, owing to the present dearth of employment in New South Wales. (Received May 1, 9.50 p.m.) Brisbane, May 1. The British ludian Company's steamship Alinora, from London via the East Indies, reports that one death from small-pox occurred during the voyage, but no further cases have since occurred.
(Received May 2, 1 a.m.) Melbourne, May 1. The application of Captain Lockyer, of the steamship Adelaide, for a mandamus to prohibit the Victorian Navigation Board from enforcing the suspenof his certificate was heard to-day, but ultimately refused. It is probable that Captain Lockyer will appeal against the decision of the Court.
