[united press association.] Christchurch, April 21. The dead body of a man, with a bullet wound in the head, was found in Hagley Park yesterday. From a letter found on the body it appears that the deceased was John Rosewell, and that he shot himself. His brother James Rosewell is living in Sydenham, and his wife at Davenport, England. Robert Bryde, a farmer at Ashley, was killed on Friday by a kick from a horse. Dunedin, April 22. The Medical Association have forwarded their petition to Government to commute the sentenoe on Dr. Parry. The document was signed by seventeen medical men residing Dunedin. Four other medical men refused to sign the requisition. Marton, April 22. John Gordon, butcher, employed by Taylor here, died very suddenly yesterday morning. He had been drinking heavily. An inquest will be held. A man named William Schultz, a laborer, dropped down dead while at tea in Price's Crown Hotel, at Otautau, last evening. Blenheim, April 22. Thomas Riley, an old Marlborough resident, and formerly a wool-scourer in a large way of business, was found dead in his house this morning. Deceased had been in bad circumstances lately, and drinking heavily. The Coroner withdrew his warrant for an inquest in consequence of Dr. Cleghorn certifying that the cause of death was alcoholic epilepsy.
