It has transpired that Major Sir Evelyn Baring, Consul-General at Cairo, has been summoned to London by the first mail steamer. It is understood that Government has now under consideration important questions relating to the state of affairs in Egypt. Darmstadt, April 19. Her Majesty Queen Victoria is suffering from lumbago, and is confined to her apartments. Hong-Kong, April 19. A new Supreme Council of the Empire has been appointed at Pekin, and the Ministers who were recently publicly degraded on account of want of success attending Chinese arms in Tonquin have been replaced by avowed supporters of the anti-foreign policy.
