The Kumara Times. Published Every Evening. MONDAY, APRIL 14, 1884.

An excellent opportunity is afforded to any one in search of a share in a rich claim. A share is now for sale in Lousich and party’s (the Austrians’) claim, at Hayes Terrace. There are water-races, dams, and a tail-race attaching to the claim, besides machinery for stone-lift, piping, hose, and other gear requisite for the working of the claim, A threeroomed verandah cottage, with garden, may also be included in the purchase. It is stated to be, without exception, one of the best mining properties within five miles of Kumara ; and if that is the case we might as well say ten or twelve miles of Kumara. Application may be made to Mr C. P. Carlssen, at the claim, or to Mr D. Hannan, agent, from whom full particulars may be obtained. Another good investment is also offered for sale by tender in Nisbet and party’s five-acre sluicing claim, at the Break. Tenders are to be addressed to Mr G. Allman on or before Saturday next, the 19th inst., and left at Mr Denfield’s, Seddon street. Mr D. Hannan has been appointed Legal Manager for the Long Tunnel Company, vice Mr Jas. Miller, who is leaving the district. There were four or five other applicants. A telegram has been received concerning the Eobin Hood Consultation. The full amount was drawn for. Kumara has been somewhat unfortunate, only one prize falling to the lot of subscribers here. This was a second-class cash bond, to ticket No. 2027. Eesult slips are expected by Wednesday’s mail. The music of the new patriotic song, “ Unfurl the Flag,” of which Sir William

Robinson, Governor of South Australia, is the author, has been readered with success in England. It was performed by the military band at the Crystal Palace } and met with a warm reception. It will be observed tlret an entertainment in aid of St. Patrick’s School Fund is announced to take place on Friday, the 27th June. The character of the festival is not yet decided upon, but due notice thereof will be given.
