MINERS ASSOCIATION.
A special meeting of the Executive Committee of the Miners Association ■was to be held on last Friday night at Dillman's; but, owing to there not
being a quorum present, through the inclemency of the weather, the meeting was adjourned till Saturday, when the meeting was held at the Theatre Royal, Kumara, the following gentlemen being present —P. Dungan, Esq. (President), Messrs George Voysey (Vice-President), "Win. Morris (Treasurer), R. Morgan, G. Watson, W. Wells, J. Nicholas, and F. Marshall (Secretary).
The President stated that he regretted to say that he had received notice from the Secretary that it was his intention to resign, as he (the Secretary) was abonfc to leave the district. He then read to the meeting the notice he had received from the Secretary, and put it to the meeting whether it be accepted. Mr R. Morgan moved and Mr Morris seconded'—"That the resignation of the Secretary be accepted with regret, and that a vote of thanks be recorded on the minutes." The motion was carried.
It was then moved by G. Voysey, and seconded by George Watson, "That Mr Win. Morris be appointed Secretary, pro tern ; and that all books and papers belonging to the Association be handed over to him."
The motion was carried, and the meeting then adjviuned.
