VOLUNTEER FIRE BRIGADE.

The committee appointed to arrange for the making of uniforms reported having accepted the tender of Mrs Matson, at 13s 6d each for half a dozen. Messrs Greenwood, Burger, Williams, Waters, Anderson, and Geraghfcy were severally nbmiuated for the position of Foreman Hose Company. The election will take place at the next monthly meeting. Mr Coutts was proposed to be readmitted as a member of the Brigade. The price of tickets to the fancy dress ball was fixed at 10s 6d each, which is to include refreshments. The names of Firemen Ziegler, Sumsion, C. Murtha and Geraghty were added to the standing committee. Fireman Valentine tendered his resignation as a member of the Brigade, which was accepted with very great regret. It was resolved to admit Mr Valentine as a life honorary member of the Brigade. After the. business of the meeting was over, the Brigade took their new engine to Quinn's Creek, and had some practice with it, throwing a stream of water over the fire-bell tower, and previoasly two jets of water to a satisfactory height. On both occasions the men were highly pleased with the results of the trials.
