HOSPITAL FETE.

There was a largely-attended meeting of the Hospital Fete Committee held at the Town Hall last evening. Mr H. Burger occupied the chair, and there were present Messrs Palmer, Watson, Pearn, Light, Pitzsiraons, Richards, Anderson, Jones, Hope, Nicholson, Wiesner, Ziegler, M'Ewen, J. Hannah, Mansfield, and Spyer (Hon. Sec). The names of Mr D. Plannan, (Mayor) and Mr W. Barnett were added to the Committee. The Secretary was instructed to write to the Hibernian Society asking their cooperation at the f6te and to send a delegate to act with the committee. Messrs Pearn and the Secretary reported having canvassed Main street, and collected .210 10s, with several promises to famish goods for fancy stall. Messrs Stewart and Fitzsimons were appointed to canvaso Seddon street today.

Mr Hope reported having made arrangements for an entertainment.

It was arranged that all goods for the fancy goods stall be received at Mr Burger's, and that a catalogue, describing the article, its value, and the name of the donor be kept in a conspicuous place near the goods so received. The Secretary was instructed to write to the School Committee and solicit the use of the swing boat. Also, that the sports committee be empowered to make arrangements for the use of the Merry-go-round.

Tickets of admission to the concert and ball are to be—front seats, 3s, back seats, 2s; said tickets to entitle the holder to free admission to the fete at Recreation Ground. Admission to the ground is to be Is; children free.

The sports committee were empowered to make the necessary arrangements for the carrying out of the same. The meeting was then adjourned till Wednesday next, at 8 o'clock.
