The homeward mails via Suez and Brindisi,- dated Melbourne January 31st, were delivered to-day. A portion of the cargo of frozen mutton ex steamer Potosi, was sold to-day at s£d to s|d per lb. The meat was in excellent condition. (Received March 13, 0.55 a.m.) Paris, March 12. Despatches to hand from Tonquin announce that the main body of the French army has arrived before Bacninh, and that two forts in the vicinity of the town have been captured and occupied by French troops. >— —< [special to press association.] London, March 10. Mr John Redmond, M.P., has stated that any renewal by the Land League of a policy of outrage will effectually alienate Australasian sympathy. An attempt to blow up the Compte de Paris with dynamite has failed.
