KUMARA HOSPITAL FETE.
The Committee appointed to make arrangements for the Hospital Fete at Easter met at the Town Hall on Wednesday evening. There were present —Messrs Burger (in the chair), U. Watson, Palmer, Light, T. Jones, M'Ewan, Richards, Hope, and John Hannah. A letter was read from the Town Clerk signifying that the Borough Council would grant the use of the Recreation Ground for the occasion. A sub-committee recommended that the entertainment to be given in the evening should be held in the Theatre Royal, and their recommendation was adopted, as was also that of the committee who had decided that a concert should be given. The names of Messrs Gilbert Stewart and "W. Nicholson were added to the Fete Committee. Messrs Pearn, Jones, Fttzsimmons, Skilton, Mansfield, Ziegler, Gilbert Stewart, Burger and M'Ewan were appointed a Sports Committee, and were empowered to make the necessary arrangements for buildings, &c, to be used on the ground ; a floor to be laid for dancing. Messrs Nicholson, Burger, Hannah, and Pearn were appointed a Supply Committee. The following members were elected a Committee to canvass the district for gifts, as advertised, viz., Messrs J. Biggs and H. Hope for Greenstone; Messrs Mansfield, Watson, and Hope, for Larrikins; Messrs Joues, Light, and Palmer, for Dillman's; Messrs J, Hannah, Burger, Nicholson, and M* Ewan, for Kumara. Mr Nicholson was appointed Treasurer to the Committee, which then adjourned till the 19th inst.
