[special to press association.] London, February 29, The new Electoral Reform Bill will, it is estimated, create two millions of additional voters, and Mr Gladstone suggests that additional representation in the shape of a limited increase in the number of members in the House of Commons should be granted. He is not, however, favorable to any reduction in the number of Irish members. The Indian railway system ia to be extended to Quett. It has been ascertained that some defect in the clockwork of the infernal machines found at the Paddington and Charing Cross stations had prevented their going off as intended. March 1. General Gordon, as Governor of Soudan, has issued a proclamation, stating he has summoned the British troops to Khartoum to punish the rebels. The Europeau Powers have agreed to accept a couventien for the protection of submarine cables. March 2. Mr W. T. Marriott, M.P. for Brighton, who resigned his seat after supporting Sir Stafford Nortbcote's vote of censure in regard to Egyptian affairs, has been re-elected in the Tory interest by a majority of 1400. An accidental explosion has occurred on board the Aberdeen, bound for Adelaide. The captain and several of the crew were injured, and the vessel has returned to Gravesend.
