under the command of British officers have started for Assouan, on the Nubian frontier, at the First Cataract of the Nile, with the object of opposing the advance of the rebels in that direction. (Received March 1, 0.55 a.m.) News is to band from Souakim that General Graham has commenced bis advance against the Arab rebels. [special to press association.] London, February 25. Colonel Cettogan, with 2000 men of the Khartoum garrison, is on his way to Berber. February 26. The Mahdi is reported to be tampering with the Mussulmans of India and the Nubian troops in Souakim threaten to join the rebels. February 27. Two more garrisons in the Southern Soudan have been captured by the rebels. Two regiments of Egyptian troops have been ordered to proceed to Assouan. The fidelity of the native garrison in Cairo is distrusted.
