Dunedin, February 12. Mr W. N. Blair, Chief Engineer for the Middle Island, delivered a lecture here to-night before a crowded audience on "The Industries of New Zealand." It will be published in the papers. At its close Mr Driver M.H.R., proposed a vote of thanks to the lecturer, which was carried by acclamation. Napier, Febrnary 14. The victims of the Ormondville tragedy were buried in the presence of a large concourse of people. The murderer Edwards was brought before the Court, but was remanded without any evidence being taken. Six defendants were charged at the Ormondville Court to-day with holding lotteries. Wellington, February 15. Alexander, the Australian Blondin, is showing here to exceedingly large audiences. From Wellington Mr Alexander goes to Blenheim.
